Whether a weekly run, a charity walk or a world-famous ultramarathon, the satisfaction of completing an event that pushes you mentally and physically is empowering and hugely gratifying. I work to change ‘I can’t’ into ‘I can’ – that’s how we grow as people and refuse to let life pass us by.
As an experienced runner and a UK Athletics Running Coach, I have helped a wide range of runners achieve their goals at distances from 5km to ultramarathons. I relish entering into your journey with you, investing in your hard work and enjoying your successes as much as you do!
I was once the person who hated running. The person who struggled with self-belief; who had to work on mindset and learn the competitive scene from scratch. I was the person who couldn’t fit their training and competing into days already full with four children, a business and busy home life. I still am. Things are rarely perfect in life and my biggest strength in coaching is that I’ve been there and had to figure it out myself.
Whilst I do coach top-level competitive runners, I particularly enjoy working with ‘ordinary runners’ in their quest for personal accomplishments, whether that’s stepping into the competitive ultra-scene or running your first mile – I’ve struggled with both in the past!
Whilst I have formal coaching qualifications, what’s far more important is experience.
A book can’t teach you what you'll feel like after 13 hours on your feet looking at another 7 to go. It can't teach you what your stomach will be able to handle or how best to deal with the inevitable blisters. Having ‘been there and done that’ I’ve learnt how to deal with all manner of challenges endurance running can throw at you. I look forward to passing that knowledge on to you.
My goal is to provide the motivation to make the difference, in whatever form that may take.
Whether you’re looking to give running a go, find your long-lost legs or compete in a race it’s the mental struggle that comes first: overcoming that negative chimp on the shoulder that screams you can’t go on, you’re too slow, or that running just isn’t for you. I’ve been there before (at times I still am) and I work to support you in more than just the physical, whether it’s the motivation to complete a 100-mile race, or the self-confidence to try that first 5K.
Ready to go training plans from 5km to 100miles: these are the perfect option for those not quite willing to invest in a coach but wanting the confidence to know that what they're doing is as productive as it can be in the confusing and contradictory world of run training.
Calling on years of experience across ultras and shorter distance racing, I can provide training plans to suit whatever challenge is on the horizon for you. Past clients have used my plans to run a 5km, improve their 10K times, complete in half and marathon races and even compete at a high level in ultras.

THE CONFIDENCE TO STEP INTO YOUR POTENTIAL
For those wanting to get the most out of their running, one-to-one coaching is the next step. Providing individualised programming as to your specific commitments and goals, coaching provides the ongoing support needed to best develop your training journey. Alongside that critical accountability, I provide the knowledge and experience for us to adapt your training according to circumstances, allowing you to focus on the most important part: getting the actual work done!
We will have an initial chat, from this I can develop your plan which will take into account your goals, time commitments and current level of fitness. As a coach I put a strong emphasis on communication. so we can work together to properly assess and support your progress.
Online and text support is unlimited, and where possible I will meet you in person. We also have a private Facebook Group where you can engage with a community of other athletes and runners for a community of additional motivation, knowledge and support.
Don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or want to discuss if it might work for you!
TAKE ONE STEP AND THE REST WILL FOLLOW...
Whether you've been running for years and are looking to get to the next level or you're a newbie and want to see if running is something you might like to try, I have a run group for you.
A perfect blend of accountability and social motivation, run groups are the perfect way to keep yourself on track and share the trails with other runners of all types and backgrounds.
I also understand how daunting joining a group for the first time can be. So why not book a half hour run session with me first and whilst we're out we can chat and find the best option for you.

Every year we promise ourselves we're going to get in shape and lose weight. We dust off our trainers and hit the trails or head into the gym. It feels good and we enjoy it but for some reason after only a few sessions we stop. Life gets in the way and motivation wanes.
This is where I can make a difference. When you commit to working with me you are much more likely to achieve your goals because:
I'll be waiting for you, so you have to turn up – you can’t put it off and decide that today you’d do anything, even the ironing, rather than exercise.
I plan the sessions with your goal in mind, so you turn up and just ‘do’.
I make the sessions fun and motivating - you get more out of yourself when someone is encouraging you.
Tomorrow better than today,
Today better than yesterday
