Join me for January's challenge:
Why:
New Years Resolutions are all very well but good habits take time to cement. This short sharp habit forming challenge will allow you, along with others to build new routines.
What:
Do something that requires you to move for 20min or more every day for the 31 days of January.
When
It all starts on the first day of January.
How
The choice of things you might choose to do each day are limitless, be a creative as you like. As it's the start of the year why not also use it as an opportunity to try something new..
So here are some ideas to start you off.
swim - take the kids and enjoy time in a pool or swim lengths add in some 'strides' - faster lengths to get your heart rate up
ride - in the gym, outdoors on the bike or canal path, with the kids, with a freind, off road there are lots of great routes that are great for gravel riding, get in touch if you need some ideas.
walk - around the block, on a new route, take the dog, swap out a coffee for a takeaway and a walk with a friend. take the kids up a local look out point, sling on a rucksack and walk to the shops and back
run - on trails, road, or track. Find a new and interesting route, revisit an old forgotten route. Head over to parkrun, try an new run group we have a Tuesday morning run group to join.
HIIT - sweat it out in class or in your front room
strength - in a gym, in your home, outside in the park, follow something online or join a class on Zoom
Dance - Zumba or another dance class, put on your fave tunes and just dance, have a kitchen disco, for the more hard core, head out for a night out and dance the night away
yoga - join a class, follow a video on YouTube, start a daily morning ritual with yoga and meditation/journalling
pilates - as above
Skip - great for strength and cardiovascular exercise
If you find your motivation is waining mid month - remember we are stronger together so involve others, kids, a friend or your other half. The more poeple you tell and involve the more likely you are to stick to it.
